Inspection of a Morbella instrument joint under magnification

Manufacturing & Quality

Checked closely.
Finished precisely.

Quality starts with a clear specification and continues through shaping, fitting, finishing, inspection and marking. Here is how every order is approached.

01Manufacturing

Six stages. One instrument.

From forged blank to laser-marked, packed instrument — each stage worked against the specification agreed for your order.

    Forging the blank

Each instrument starts as a forged or cut steel blank in the outline of the agreed pattern.

    STAGE 02

    Shaping & machining

Jaws, blades, serrations and joints are milled, ground and filed to the pattern.

    STAGE 03

    Fitting & assembly

Box joints, screws, ratchets and springs are fitted so the instrument opens, closes and locks correctly.

    Finishing & polishing

Surfaces are finished to the specified look — satin, mirror, matte or a coloured finish.

  6. Laser marking and private-label packing

MORBELLA or your brand is laser-marked, then instruments are packed to your packaging brief.

02Quality · anatomy

What we control in every instrument.

Quality is designed into each part of the instrument. Here is what is specified, worked and checked on a pair of operating scissors.

  2. 02Box joint & screw

The pivot that sets smoothness and alignment of the action; fitted and adjusted by hand.

  3. 03Laser-mark field

A flat zone on the shank for MORBELLA, your brand, catalogue number or other marking you specify.

  4. 04Ring handles

Ring size, shape and finish affect comfort and control; ratchets are added for clamping patterns.

  5. 05Shanks

Length and profile set reach and balance; straight and curved patterns are available on request.

  6. 06Cutting edges

Edge bevel, curvature and finish are produced to the pattern and checked before packing.
